Eco Flexibles shortlisted for two Digital Labels & Packaging Awards 202

Sustainability-focused flexible packaging specialist, Eco Flexibles, is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for two prestigious categories at the 2026 Digital Labels & Packaging Awards.

The nominations recognise Eco Flexibles’ continued innovation in sustainable flexible packaging and digital print technology, with shortlisted entries for:

· Best Use of Water-Based Inks – Booja-Booja Hot Chocolate

· Stand Up Pouches – Conscious Brands: Just. Health Powders

The Digital Labels & Packaging Awards celebrate excellence across the digital print and packaging industry, recognising outstanding innovation, sustainability and print quality.

Recognition for sustainable digital packaging innovation

The shortlisted Booja-Booja Hot Chocolate project highlights Eco Flexibles’ expertise in combining premium shelf appeal with recyclable packaging design. Produced using the Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 water-based inkjet digital press, the mono-material PP pouch utilised CMYK+W water-based inks and a matte metallic finish to create a premium appearance while supporting recyclability goals.

Developed for the launch of Booja-Booja’s award-winning hot chocolate range, the digitally printed pouch structure enabled high-quality short production runs for

sampling and trade events, while maintaining a rich colour palette and strong brand identity. The precision drop placement and inline drying capabilities of the FP790 delivered the high-definition print quality required for the specialist confectionery brand.

Breakthrough recyclable paper pouch shortlisted

Eco Flexibles’ second shortlisted entry, created for Conscious Brands’ Just. Health Powders range, has been recognised in the Stand Up Pouches category.

The project represents what is believed to be the first digitally printed recyclable paper-based pouch for health powders produced in the UK using water-based inkjet technology.

The high-barrier paper stand-up pouch was designed to help the brand transition away from rigid plastic pots without compromising product protection, functionality or visual impact. The barrier paper structure prevents moisture ingress to maintain powder quality and shelf life, while the inherent rigidity of the structure ensures effective stand-up pouch performance.

Printed using the Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 at 1200 x 1200dpi resolution with CMYK+W water-based inks, the packs combine recyclability-focused packaging design with premium print quality, sharp text reproduction and fine detail.

Driving the future of sustainable flexible packaging

These latest nominations continue Eco Flexibles’ strong track record for award-recognised innovation in digitally printed flexible packaging, particularly in the development of recyclable structures and water-based inkjet applications.

Simon Buswell, Sales & Marketing Director at Eco Flexibles, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Digital Labels & Packaging Awards. These nominations reflect the incredible work of our team and the strong collaborative partnerships we have with forward-thinking brands like Booja-Booja and Conscious Brands.

“Both projects demonstrate how sustainable flexible packaging can deliver exceptional print quality, premium shelf appeal and functional performance, while supporting the transition towards more recyclable packaging formats.”
